Holiday at the Mill - Charity & Cheer

The countdown is on to our Holiday at the Mill weekend event - 11/6 - 11/7 , 10AM-7PM!

We are excited to share a little Charity and Cheer with you as we welcome the Holiday season. No matter what the coming weeks hold, whether it means cancelled Christmas plans or readjusted expectations, we want to inspire you to not lose hope. A simple holiday, a different holiday, a pared down holiday, can still be a holiday full of love and, yes, even cheer. Not much is needed to accomplish this, and we hope our natural displays hearkening to decades before us will light the way forward.

We often romanticize the past as "the good old days," but for many, the past was not simple or easy or even good. We think of the days of Louisa May Alcott, as she wrote Little Women. The story she weaves is one of great hardship and loss, and yet one of overwhelming love and care and determination. When we look to the past for inspiration, as a business in an old mill full of antique items will do, we seek not to romanticize, but to build camaraderie with the past and to be bolstered by the perseverance and creativity of those who lived and died before us.

We hope that you can get a sense of this as you visit the Mill this holiday season, and pick up on the pulse of perseverance and love that ties humanity together. So no matter where with whom you spend your holidays, we hope that you will feel the love of your community around you. We are in this together.
